A New Gallery, Gift Shop Opens in Pahoa

A family-operated business created by Amedeo and Althea Markoff, Puna Gallery and Gift Emporium, has made its grand opening last March 31, Saturday, in Pahoa.

In an article from Hawaii Tribune-Herald, Markoff, who has owned a wood mill in Pahoa since 1995 mentioned that he realized the need for a venue where they can display the furnitures and other functional art made in his workshop and those of other artists.

“Our goal, along with other businesses here, is to provide a welcoming place for locals and visitors to stop, shop, eat and explore right here in Puna,” Markoff further said. “Our focus for the revitalization of Pahoa Village is on local art and locally made gift products.”

The newly opened gallery and giftshop is located at 15-2901 Pahoa Village Road and is open daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm except on Wednesdays.
